The 2nd Annual All-in-One Class!

Thursday the 22nd is our Second Annual All-in-One Class! We’ll all meet at the school together, every one from every class. We do a huge work out, then each age group comes out and does their own thing. Afterward we have a pizza party. This is our way of saying Thank you to all of our students for another year of hard work and dedication. The demonstration we did on July 10th went over very well! The kids did amazing! We will have dvd’s for the demonstration to be handed out on Thursday at the all-in-one Class. Thank you everyone, for making this another great year.
Demonstration!!

We were asked by Nordstroms on PGA Boulevard to do a Karate Demonstration! The demonstration is July 10th, at 11am to 1pm, at the Gardens Mall. The demonstration will have all of our young purple ranks, and then every rank up from there. We will have a Tai chi Demonstration, a board breaking demonstration, as well as a two man form! Everyone’s been working very hard for this demonstration and is really pumped for it! Come join us and check out our school! We’ll be down in the Kids shoe department, right by the West Entrance! You’ll hear the Kiai’s throughout the Mall!
Summer is definitely here

So it is summer again! We’re going to have another ‘All in one’ class sometime soon, stay posted for the details. We’ve also been traveling a little bit to other martial arts schools to train with them, which is a lot of fun. In July we may be traveling to Ormond beach to train with their school as well. The students are coming far, we have many purple belts, and a lot of students testing soon as well. The beginner adult class actually has more students now, which is great. Keep training everyone, even though its so humid outside!
Travels Abound!

Our school has been getting invitations from other Villari’s schools since the tournament to go work out with them. This is great news because this is how our system is supposed to function. For years in our area schools haven’t had contact with each other, and now all the schools seem to be talking again, which is great. We have an invitation to Ormond Beach, to go train on the 14th of June. If anyone in our school is interested in going, let me know, and we’ll try to arrange a travel method. We here at Lake Park Martial Arts are happy to hear the schools are reopening their doors to other schools again, this is a great movement forward for our organization.
Testing!

Today we tested quite a few of the little ninja’s and older kids! Ian, Adam, Austin, Tyler, Annika, Alex, and Euan all tested for their next ranks! Everyone did great on the test, and proved that they definitely earned the belt they were wearing. The tests we hold are always for more then just the kids, they tell us as instructors what we need to work on with the kids, and if our teaching is effective. Great job everyone!
The Wellington Tournament!

Saturday April 10th, 2010. Our little school entered a tournament with three other competing martial arts schools. All the schools did amazingly well! We were all very impressed. I have to commend our students however, because we managed to take first place in many of the events, our little ninjas never flinched as they did their Kata’s! The other schools were very tough competition. Everyone trained hard and it definitely paid off! We were all very very impressed with the students of Wellington’s Black Belts, Ormond beach’s Green belts, and Miami’s Adults! Congratulations to everyone who competed, and we all hope we can do it again soon! I’ll post an official posting of everyones place in the tournament come Thursday night.
